Emotional challenges

Isolation & Loneliness

“I sought counselling with Isabella because I was feeling really overwhelmed and was wondering whether I could be autistic. I wasn’t optimistic that counselling would help me, having undertaken quite a lot of it in the past and not found it helpful, but counselling with Isabella has been a completely different and validating experience. I was, initially, very anxious before and during our sessions, but Isabella is empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive, and has made it safe for me to talk about things that I haven’t been able to talk about before. I, also, really appreciate Isabella’s genuinely collaborative and honest approach to sessions. I have now started exploring who I authentically am, and I am more able to share this with other people. Rather than believing that there is something fundamentally wrong with me, I am beginning to actually quite like myself. This experience of counselling has been liberating, and I am far more hopeful and excited about life.”

“I have found my sessions with Isabella exciting, interesting, revealing, and even transformative. She creates a space that allows for silence and reflection as well as my ramblings with zero judgment and full support. Though these traits are somewhat obvious for a counsellor to possess, it’s easier sought for than found. I’m grateful to Isabella for our time together and only wish I could afford to see her more than twice a month! And that isn’t to say that she’s expensive. On the contrary, she is very fairly priced, another thing difficult to find. I always look forward to my brief time with her, and as we dig deeper, I am really starting to see who I’ve been hiding inside myself all my life.”

“I was struggling to make sense of my life, both personally and professionally, due to a number of factors that all seemed to collide at the same time. Although I had close family around to provide their advice, I really felt I needed an opportunity to speak with someone new and impartial about the areas causing me a lot of concern and distress. This led me to seek counseling with Isabella at Heart and Mind Therapies. I always find it difficult to meet someone new and open up about what is going on in my mind, but Isabella provided a compassionate and safe space for me to do so. During my online sessions, I felt seen, heard, and listened to throughout. It was also incredibly empowering to speak with someone who understood my neurodivergent brain; someone who could relate to my own life experiences, which is something I do not get in my day-to-day life. Thank you, Isabella, for giving me your time and space to work through my experiences.”
